My dad showed us how the four balls will roll as one, with the one on top staying on top, rolling backwards as the other three roll forward. Pretty cool!

Quite possibly the biggest snowflakes I have ever seen came down yesterday. Not a fan of the snow as you know..but I must admit..it was a magical..beautiful sight..There are SO many heart-shaped snowflakes with in this photo..probably why I adore it so much!

Found out my numbers got messed up a little, and I should be on 127, not 123.
So, I'm playing catch up.

I read about an electronic circuit that can levitate small items. It really works, but it can be hard to get the item into the perfect position to start with. There is a magnet glued inside each item. The circuit varies the current into the electromagnet/bolt to maintain the hovering.

...For his first trick, Mr Erastus (with help from his assistant Munro) astonished the audience by conjuring a winged creature – a Griffin! - out of his hat...

...Listening to a surfeit of Nick Cave* over the last couple of weeks, re-watching the amazing illusions of Alfred Borden and Robert Angier and re-reading the exploits of Carter the Great got me onto drawing this quick picture...
I began to wonder what tricks and illusions Eduardo Erastus would perform in his show – and thought that this would be a good opener....

*(Particularly Fifteen Feet of Pure White Snow. The video is one of his best, I think – you have the brilliant Noah Taylor on the smoke machine, Warren Ellis and Blixa Bargeld chorusing back-to-back, Jarvis Cocker doing funky dancing through the aforementioned smoke AND (from 3 minutes 12 onwards) Mr Cave in full blown preacherman mode. Love it. )
